Project is designed and built at area of Cesme, a quite famous tourism center in Turkey.
First settlements of summer houses started to be built in area by Levantines dealing with trading in 1902 in Cesme. BY House is designed in between these old houses. Instead of copying/faking them; to be very simple and respectful was the main decision while designing the mass of the house.
BY house is designed using 2 simple boxes nested on top of each other. The rooms designed in the top box; living room and kitchen in the lower box.
The block has been located to the western part of the field and the main terrace is located to the north of the lower box. The shadow required for the main terrace during the whole summer is achieved by the bold cantilever of the top box.
The upper box is completely covered with aluminium profiles. Also, the sliding-folding shutters are from the same material creating a simple box effect when closed.
The lover box façade is natural stone apart from the generous windows facing the sea view.
There is a 45m2 terrace with a great sea view above the lover box which is designed for use especially at night times. For access for the guests or directly from the garden an outer stair is designed.
